Audio-recording while presenting on Discord

I tested this using Audacity 3.2.1.

In Audacity Settings: these are the defaults, but check that they're set to this:

Then, start recording in Audacity. Verify that waveforms are getting created

Then open Discord, go into Settings via the gear icon in the bottom left:

Then navigate to "Voice & Video" and click the Let's Check button:

As you talk now, you should see the microphone level indicator move, and the computer should echo back what you're saying with a delay. At the same time, Audacity should still be recording.

If all that happens, click Stop Testing and feel free to stop the recording in Audacity. You can restart recording whenever you want after hopping into the voice chat.

Suggestions

1. Keep in mind, this will not record anyone else's voice on Discord. If someone says something to you, it will just be recorded as silence.

2. Before you start presenting, it can help to save the audacity project to a directory where you want it. If your machine crashes mid-session, you can reopen the audacity project and continue recording where you left off.

3. Make sure you save the project as soon as your session is over.

4. If you're going to send the recording to someone else for post-production, zip up and send the entire directory.
